Highway 'texting zones' unveiled in New York

In an attempt to keep drivers focused on the road and not on their digital devices, the State of New York is rolling out a novel plan to incorporate designated "texting zones" into its roads and highways.

Governor Andrew Cuomo unveiled the program Monday with a press conference, saying "with this new effort, we are sending a clear message to drivers that there is no excuse to take your hands off the wheel and eyes off the road because your text can wait until the next texting zone."
